The tennis players of the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions 2009 participated in the superfood off-court activity held at the Westin Resort in Nusa Dua on Thursday morning. The cooking class introduced various ways in preparing food that is highly nutritious and healthy. Yanina Wickmayer, Sabine Lisicki and Vera Dushevina all tried to prepare the super food which has become a trademark of The Westin.
The three tennis players had a try at the cooking class under the guidance of The Westin’s Hotel Manager, Dario Orisini. Dushevina really enjoyed the session. As it has been over a year since she stepped foot in the kitchen to cook, while Wickmayer and Lisicki both enjoyed food with a balance of nutrition and protein that supports their stamina as an athlete.
Super Food has become a trademark of the Westin. There are a total of 40 different super foods varieties that can be created, including pasta, salads, smoothies, pastries, etc. The core ingredients are fruits, egg, chocolate, nuts, taofu, vegetables, salmon and beef. The three tennis players tasted a glass of beetroot booster and blueberry smoothie, followed by spicy turkey taco and scrambled egg, cheddar and salsa. On the side plate, the Westin prepared organic egg mixed with taofu, arugula, asparagus and tomato salad.
